Welcome To FineTunedInstruments.com
Welcome to Fine Tuned Instruments, the home of Gene Baker and his "b3" custom instruments. Where extreme quality craftsmanship and tone are king! Fine Tuned Instruments began shipping instruments in early 2003 on a very limited basis being a small shop. Now into 2008 we have expanded our line of instruments and continue to look into other models our customers demand or we feel are missing in the market. Using twists on vintage friendly themes while adding flair and modern advancements where I feel required. I consider them to be tools for tone purists.

The Latest

For current News, I have been uploading a lot of old memorabilia video footage I stumbled across in the archives so if you go to http://www.myspace.com/meangene31 and you can check out some rather raw footage capturing an inside glimpse at the original factory.

New Artists checking out our fiddles... You can catch "Another Animal" http://www.anotheranimalrocks.com on tour and see Tony Richards http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg199/b3gene/LeeRichards01.jpg tearing it up on his Phoenix 7. The band includes members of Godsmack so expect some heavy hitting. "Dr Know” of "Bad Brains" http://www.badbrains.com has also been tracking with a hot-rodded Phoenix tremolo model with a Ghost Midi system built in. Other custom rides in progress for Stone Temple Pilots - Dean DeLeo http://www.stonetemplepilots.com and Fair To Midland's - Cliff Cambell http://www.fairtomidland.com

Mean Gene and the Portable Jon’s (Gene-os band) recorded a demo at J Street Recorders end of Jan 08. Brain Wheat of the band "Tesla" owns and operates a record label so me and the guys headed to Sacramento, CA and laid down some tracks. Gene-o restored Brians vintage Gibson Thunderbird that he has had since his teens and used on all the early Tesla recordings with. Now we just have to wait for the Tesla boys to finish up their new CD so we can get back to mixing down our tracks......For in studio pic’s see

Oct 07 Gene won a local guitar wars competition getting dubbed the Grand Central Music's 07/08 Guitar Champion. Video may materialize one day if we get lucky. Next year Gene-o gets to come back as a judge for the event., still waiting on that video....can you believe it!!!!

By this time we have the Phoenix 5's and 7's staring to get out to the dealers including some cool new colors added to the list. Pelham Blue (Black Creek guitars has the first Pelham coming their way FYI), Mercedes Blue Metallic and Shoreline Gold (Wood model heading to Destroy All Guitars call Cliff). I'll stick some pictures into the photo gallery and create a new folder for your viewing pleasure. To find the photo gallery just select the Models tab, click on any model and your directed to the photo gallery.

Bolt on models are getting even closer! just around the corner, Stay Fine Tuned...

News on the bolt on models is that a proto neck has been released into the Wild lurking around burning leads in Bakersfield somewhere. Some how or other it got married up to a friends stock Tele body and off it went.

Replacement necks are now available for your standard S or T type guitar, these necks are a 3 on a side, tilt back headstock, b3 logo etc... These are available in 24.625, 25 and 25.5 scale necks with a 12 inch radius (24.625 and 25 only in 21 fret, 25.5 available in 21 and 22 fret) and they will retrofit onto any stock S or T type guitar, all we need to know is what your putting it on so we cut the right type of heel shape. How cool is that convert your Strat to a Gibson scale length or PRS scale length without modifying your guitar, completely reversible just put your original neck back on when ever needed. There’s plenty of options available from various inlays, bound fretboards, neck shapes, wood choices etc... Please contact FTI for more info. Bolt on Bodies aren't too far away either.....

NEW FIRE SERIES MODEL??? WHAT!!!    Ecomony friendly??? More info as it develops.
